Thanks for raising your concern on this platform:
1. consult an ENT Surgeon who will inspect the throat with a good torch and
tongue depressor for:
- If the tonsils are red and inflmmed with tender tonsillar lymph nodes below te angle of mandible, then it is acute tonsillitis
- If the entire throat i.e. posterior pharyngeal wall is inflamed, then it could be pharyngitis
- If there are inflamed rough granules over the posterior pharyngeal wall, it is granular pharungitis [chronic]
- As strept throat/flu test and mono test came back negative thus are excluded [make sure that
white patch in diptheria is also rule out
2. If above viral and bacterial infections are both exclude with examination then it could be Allergic, till then:
- steam inhalations and saline water gargles
- drink plenty of warm fluids like soup,tea and lukewarm water
- avoid allergens like smoke/chemicals,dust, cold drinks,fried foods
- take throat lozenges
- use over the counter [OTC] medicine like
Ibuprofen to reduce inflammation and
Paracetamol [painkiller and antipyretic]
3. As you have soreness in ear,again the ENT surgeon will determine whether it is due to external/middle or internal ear pathology, till then put
otrivin nasal drops in the nose
